2010 Earth Day at Knox

River Green Outreach celebrated National Volunteer Week 2010 and Earth Day with a “Spring Fling” at Knox Elementary. Although stormy weather forced the project to be rescheduled a few weeks, volunteer spirit and plenty of sunshine shined brightly on Saturday, May 15. Our generous sponsor, Joey Burk of Gardens, Inc. donated all the plants and gardening materials and worked with six River Green families to plant flowers at the front entrance of the school. Eight adults and nine children participated in this fun family volunteer project. Everyone also helped decorate and plant almost 50 mini flower pots which were donated to area seniors.
