Caroling With Seniors 2009

Over 50 volunteers of all ages participated in "Caroling with the Seniors" on December 21, 2009. The volunteers met at the Terraces of Riverstone Senior Center with enough cookies, hot cocoa, marshmallows, and candy canes for 115 seniors. The children had a wonderful time singing Christmas carols with the seniors and handing out their homemade Christmas cards, most of which were made during Cookies with Santa at the Heritage Club.

Marcena Kinney, a River Green resident and piano instructor, did an awesome job accompanying the children on piano as they sang their Christmas carols. In addition, several of her students performed piano solos for the senior residents while the singers served cookie and delivered cards. The soloists included

This was a wonderful experience for both the volunteers as well as the seniors at the Terraces. We are hopeful that we'll have even more participants next Christmas.
